What we collect

Tag owners: your email address and the name shown on your tag. Optionally, your WhatsApp number, a backup email and your country. For shop orders we also collect your flight date and time, flight number and airport meeting point.

Finders: the message you write and the contact details you give, so the owner can reply.

Automatically: a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address, used only to prevent spam and abuse.

What finders can see

Only the name on your tag and your lost-mode message, if you turn it on. Never your email, phone number or address.

Your WhatsApp number

Adding your WhatsApp number is optional. It is stored securely and used only by TagTrace to contact you about your tag or your orders. We never share it with finders, other users or third parties, and never use it for marketing without your permission.

Payments

Card payments are handled by Bank of Maldives on their secure payment page. TagTrace never sees or stores your card number.

Keeping and deleting data

You can change your details, download your data or delete your account at any time in your account settings. After deletion, your personal data is erased within 14 days and your tag code is permanently retired — it is never given to anyone else. Order records are kept only as long as the law requires for accounting, with personal details removed.
