TagTrace is a lost-and-found service from the Maldives. We give everyone a free personal tag code to put on the things they carry. Whoever finds a lost item can message the owner straight away, without ever seeing their phone number, email or address.
Why we started
In the Maldives, things get left behind every day: a suitcase at the airport, keys on a speedboat, a backpack on a ferry, a hat at the resort pool. Most people who find something want to return it, but there's usually no way to reach the owner. Writing your phone number on a luggage label solves that, but it also shows your number to everyone who walks past.
TagTrace gives finders a simple, private way to get in touch, so lost things find their way home and your personal details stay yours.

Sign up free and get your personal code. Print it on anything, or order an engraved leather tag.
A finder scans it
They scan the QR code or type the code at tagtrace.me, then write you a short message.
You get it back
We email you their message straight away. You decide how to reply and arrange the return.
Your details stay yours
Your details stay hidden
Finders never see your phone number, email or address. They only see the name you chose for your tag.
No spam, no links
Every message is checked for spam, and links are never allowed.

Your code is yours
Your tag code is never given to anyone else, even if you delete your account.

Our logo is a tag hanging inside a shield, with its string passing through the top. The tag stands for your things finding their way back to you. The shield stands for your details staying protected along the way.
